About Pamela Pease: An American & Australian Painter

Pamela & Joffe, Arles, France

Pamela resides alternately, in the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland, Australia, or in Buxton, Maine, USA along with her husband and standard poodle Joffe.

Experiments with abstractions, seascapes, and tropical flora and fauna using various media represent fresh areas of expression in my painting. The effects of color, texture and the ultimate emotional response to composition/design continue to interest me.

Abstraction brings a freedom of style and personal expression to my art.  Since residing part-time in Australia, my work has been exhibited in galleries and art competitions in Australia, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Portland, Maine.  Many paintings are in private collections worldwide.

I trace my appreciation of fine arts back to my roots, while growing up in the state of Maine.   As a child, I was surrounded by art, music and natural beauty.  My father always painted as a counterpoint to his full-time career, as a university professor.  My cousin Mary was also a painter and art educator, as well as an active member of the Art Students League of New York.

In Maine, I am surrounded by the beauty of pristine landscapes.  Oak, maple and pine trees, all with large canopies of foliage, complement the craggy ocean coastline.   This natural beauty has been the attraction and home of generations of such painters as, Andrew, Jamie and NC Wyeth, Marden Hartley, Winslow Homer and Edward Hopper, too many others to name.  All of these people and their aesthetic works inspired my life of fine arts.

My artistic skills also grew out of my own art acquisition and professional pursuits. My educational pursuits and career included  creative Internet entrepreneurship within business, new technology and education in the USA.  In time, I also focused on cultivating my art skills, too.
