Internet Entrepreneur — business and education

Education: 

Pamela Pease holds a Doctorate and Masters in Communication Theory and Research from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Southern California.  Her research focus has been on the implementation of new technology within higher education.   In addition, Dr. Pease earned a Masters in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University.

Publications and awards: 

She has presented worldwide and written extensively on the implementation of new technologies within the context of distance education.

  • In 1999, she was awarded United States Distance Learning Association’s (USDLA), Most Outstanding Achievement by an Individual in Higher Education.
  • In years 2001-03, she was recognized as an Outstanding Business Leader in the Denver Business Journal’s Annual Who’s Who in High Technology, Telecommunications and Media.
  • She served as a member on several boards and commissions including:  The United States Distance Learning Association; Oklahoma State University’s Institute for Telecommunications;  The American Society of Training and Development;  VP Gore Task Force on the Internet; and The National Governor’s Association’s Commission on Technology & Adult Learning.
  • She served for several years as a Consultant-Evaluator for the US accreditation agency, The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), North Central Association.
  • She was recognized with a formal award in 2004 by Jones International University’s (JIU) Board of Trustees as the, Outstanding Achievement by an Individual.

Accomplishments:  

Building upon her corporate and university background, she founded an educational consulting enterprise located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Her clients have included leading universities.  She has provided consultation on educational investment opportunities to financial investors, and worked with colleges and universities across the United States.  Her work included: 1) development of strategic business and operational plans, especially for launching online learning enterprises; and 2) strategy and tactics for gaining regional accreditation (a necessary condition for Student Financial Aid and with credibility).  

Other key accomplishments include such things as:

  • President of Jones International University® (‘JIU’). She is responsible for JIU becoming the first totally online, accredited university in USA.
  • The launching of the JIU virtual model & subsequent business model.
  • Executive Director of GATE (Global Alliance for Transnational Education), an international membership organization for quality issues related to providing higher education internationally.
  • Vice President for MEU (Mind Extension University), a cable TV-based educational service for universities.
  • Executive Director of TI-IN Star Network, where she secured funding, and establishing a satellite-based 2-way live, interactive, educational network for students across hundreds of high schools in the USA.
